Knauf Fiberglass Acoustical Board is unfaced fiberglass rigid board binded with new ECOSE Technology. This product is sold in boxes of 6 sheets. Each sheet is 2ft x 4ft. Each bundle contains a total of 48 square feet. For most acoustical applications, such as sound studios, control rooms, apartments, a 2" thickness is the best solution. The value in a 2" thick fiberglass panel is the lower cost per inch, and better acoustical performance. This product is the equivalent to Owens Corning's 703 fiberglass board. This product is brown in color rather than the traditional yellow, due to the environmental friendly binder.
*This Knauf Fiberglass Acoustic Board has a density of 3lbs per cubic foot (similar to Owens Corning 703). It is the preferred product for Framed Acoustic Panels. We also offer a Heavy Density fiberglass board that is recommended for frameless acoustic panels.
WHAT IS ECOSE TECHNOLOGY?
ECOSE Technology is a revolutionary new binder chemistry that makes Knauf Insulation products even more sustainable than ever. It is based on rapidly renewable bio-based materials rather than non-renewable petroleum-based chemicals traditionally used in fiber glass insulation products. ECOSE Technology reduces binder embodied energy and contains no phenol, formaldehyde, acrylics or artificial colors.
